These case studies are part of the final phase of my training to become a Yoga Therapist. As a trainee, under the supervision of a Yoga Therapist and teacher from The Yoga Therapy Institute, I will see and assist 14 clients with yoga therapy.
Each client will receive 7 sessions, of which the first two sessions are an intake interview and a movement and breathing evaluation. The remaining 5 sessions will be yoga therapy sessions, where I will apply the tools of yoga therapy to support you.
During these sessions, you can expect me to use a combination of yoga poses, breathing, support, movement, and more to create sessions that fit your needs. The sessions will last a maximum of 90 minutes each.
In yoga therapy, we work together. The client and therapist have a relationship where respect, curiosity, and openness are important. The goal is always for the client to feel supported in the circumstances they are living in at that moment. Your feedback is an essential part of the therapeutic relationship. Everything we do in a session is specifically tailored by the therapist for you, making each session unique.
That is one of the main reasons I want to be a yoga therapist. Working one-on-one with you, using all my tools and knowledge to support you as best as possible. Being able to be creative and ensure that you always receive a session that suits you, that you can do, and that fits what you need, is what I find most beautiful and enjoyable to do. And perhaps that's why I'm quite good at it ;).
During the yoga therapist training, I completed 7 medical modules. In the most ideal situation, I find 2 clients for each module.
* Clients for this module can be seen later in the case studies trajectory.
Case studies can be done with people who are dealing with menopause (and all the changes that come with it), heart or lung diseases (such as asthma or high blood pressure), people with (near) burnout, IBS, or thyroid problems. These are just a few examples; I am especially curious about what you are currently living with!
Perhaps it is difficult to determine if you could participate? Or maybe you can place yourself in a few of the modules? Fill out the interest form, and I will contact you to see if we can work together.
The first few Case Studies are free; you help me gain experience and complete my studies. For that, I am grateful! I do ask if you can be available to complete all 7 sessions within the time frame we agree upon. This will likely be between 7 and 15 weeks. Of course, there is flexibility for our appointments and our schedules, and I need to complete my case studies within a certain time frame. After I have finished the first studies I will start to implement a sliding scale for payment. If you are part of the free case studies, but would like to,a donation to the digital tip jar to help with study and studio cost would be very much appreciated.
Sessions can be done face to face or online through Zoom!
Face to face sessions will be held at my practice space in Rijswijk, on the Delft border (close to tram 19 & 1 and Exit Delft Noord from highway A13). My space is part of Ezzy Physiotherapy at the Broekmolenweg 20. Click here to plan your route.
